Learn why runs lose clarity at speed and how to practice them without guessing.
A live online masterclass with Cooper Phillip, artist, vocal coach and founder of the Biophonics Method.
Learn how riffs and runs are built and how to use them in actual songs
YOU CAN SING THE RUN SLOWLY
BUT THEN THE TEMPO CHANGES
In this masterclass, you will learn the structure behind what you hear.
Riffs and runs are often taught through imitation:
The notes blend together. You lose control. Or you can repeat the run, but don’t know how to use it in a song.
Repeat.
Copy.
Listen.
WILL LEARN
WHAT YOU
Hear the difference between common vocal embellishments and learn to recognize their structures in music.
How riffs and runs are built
01
Understand why notes become blurred, rushed or heavy and why repeating the full melody is not always enough.
Why your runs lose clarity
02

How to develop agility and control
03
See how musical exercises can train technique, phrasing and performance at the same time.
How to bring an exercise into a song

How English affects a run

WHAT YOU WILL
TAKE AWAY

01
what you are hearing inside a run
02
why certain patterns are difficult for your voice
03
how to break them down and practice them
04
how to keep the notes clear as the melody gets faster

MEET
COOPER PHILLIP
Cooper Phillip is an artist, vocal coach, Grammy Voting Member and founder of the Biophonics Method.

What most people don't know is that she wasn't a natural singer, everything you hear in her voice today, she built. That's exactly why she teaches the way she does: combining vocal technique, musical structure, articulation and performance, so a run becomes something you understand, not something you hope for.

Cooper works with professional artists, vocal coaches and developing singers around the world, including many who sing in English as a second language.
